Can you say freaking YUM? Because that is what these bad boys are. As I made pumpkin rice crispy treats with the tops made out of a Tootsie Roll’s. I thought the topping of a Tootsie Roll really complimented the rice crispy treat. So I already had in mind that I wanted to incorporate Tootsie Roll’s next time. I seriously brain stormed so many ideas to make it Halloween I finally came up with just get a bat cookie cutter and make bat rice crispy treats. Well little did I know that failed. I could not find one in store and the one my Mom let me borrow was small and it just did not look right so this year they are plain but delicious so what does it matter. Next year we will do something fun that maybe the kids will like! Pumpkin, bat or not my kids loved them! So here we go. Let’s make these delicious treats. Here is what you will need and how much.
6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
4.5 tablespoons butter
1 package of marshmallows (the mini ones are easier to melt)
100 small Tootsie Rolls
So let’s get started with making these. First things first before you start cooking open about 100 Tootsie rolls I never realized what a pain it actually was until I was doing this so definitely do it first. Next you are going to melt 3 tablespoons of butter. I used a warmer, but you can easily use the stove on low heat or the microwave. Once your butter is melted add in your marshmallows. Again this depends on what you’re using but I used my warmer so I added small amounts so it can melt easier. When all your marshmallows are almost melted start to melt your Tootsie rolls because Tootsie rolls are extremely sticky add about 1.5 tablespoons of butter this makes it easier to work with. Since my warmer was occupied by the marshmallows I warmed my Tootsie rolls in the microwave you just put them in there for 15 second intervals and stir each time. It seriously takes about 45 seconds until it is all melted.
Once both your marshmallows and Tootsie rolls are melted pour about 6 cups of rice Krispies cereal into a mixing bowl. Than add your marshmallows and mix. Once the marshmallows are mixed add your melted Tootsie rolls and mix. I warn you now if you never made rice crispy treats before it is extremely messy. Putting cooking spray on your spoon helps a lot.
Now you are going to spray a pan with cooking spray and lay your mix down. I used a cake pan. I also used a spatula to help flatten it down.
Cool for about 45 minutes and then cut it into your desired slices. That is it your done. It was simple and it is going to be oh so yummy and delicious. I hope you enjoyed this recipe. I will add a cut out recipe soon to this post. Until then have a joyful day and God bless. Yes I was totally going to make this into a video. But you never really know how complicated editing a video can be so I am doing my homework and will start making videos soon =) And yes my bowl needs candy but to compromise for now these treats will be wrapped and added into my bowl.
