It is wedding season! And if your like me you’re going to need wedding card ideas. I just love the fact of making a wedding card so personal rather than going and buying one it brings me joy to know when I give it to the lucky couple that it was made with all my love. My beautiful sister-in-law is now married and she had a rustic theme going I did make her a rustic sign which a blog post for this will be coming soon but I wanted a good card to go with the whole theme of a present I made for her. So let’s get this started. What you will need
- Hot glue gun
- Elmers Rubber Cement Glue
- Cutting machine
Alright so here we go. I first figured out what the heck I was going to write I saw an idea on pinterest that had the same concept with a poem but I wanted to find a unique quote that described the couple to me. So I searched and found some cute love quotes. I then used word or you can use Picmonkey to create it. Don’t forget to find an elegant font! You know I google these or look on pinterest for some free ones. So I typed each word separate enough so I can cut it out. I cut out each word in a square, I used the quote than the name of the couple and also just random words that I think describe what a marriage should be. Then I used my silhouette and cut out my hearts. I did recycle a card envelope for the red. Recycle your old cards my friends it saves so much money. then I cut hearts and small squares with a cardstock that said I love you a million times on it. I then glued the words to the I love you cardstock.
Alright now that you have everything cut out. Print on your cardstock any personal notes. Inside I wished them happy wishes and I once again used Picmonkey to design the inside. Next you are going to need your Jute.
This stuff is super cheap I bought the whole roll at Walmart for like a $1.97. I cut out some strings to fit the front of the card I used 2 for the front and 3 for the inside. Before I put on the Jute I did glue on my hearts first in the background, I did keep a couple of hearts to glue on the Jute. After your hearts have dried you are going to Hot Glue the Jute on. I did glue the ends on the opposite side of the card and also glued the middle so it was stable. I then glued the quote I made to the first Jute string. I then glued some hearts and their name the other Jute in the front of the card.
Then I waited for this to dry completely like 20 minutes or so and went on to the inside. I then glued 3 Jute strings to the inside, and started separating the words and randomly gluing them on the Jute. I used the hot glue gun to glue these words on as well. That’s it! It was simple for me and cute and rustic and perfect for the couple. Let me know what you think. Also a big Congratulations to my beautiful Sister-in-law and our new brother-in-law. Have a blessed day.
